A member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) since 1976. He serves on the Board of the Society’s Foundation and is Chair of its Grants Committee. Al served as the Indiana State Chapter President in 1988, and has served on the National Board of Directors, is a past member of the Long Range Planning Committee of SIOR. Al is a past Chairman of the Convention Committee.

Al has been active in many Fort Wayne civic organizations. Currently is Chairman of the Board for Channel 39, Public Television, and he is a Committee Member, Omnibus Lecture Series, IPFW, and a past Board Member of the Indiana Innovation Center. He has served the Chamber of Commerce as Vice President and as Chairman of Committees to promote industry expansion. Al is past Chairman of Park Center, a regional mental health center.  Past member of the Board of Directors of WBNI - the region’s Public Radio Station, and served as Chairman of the Facilities Committee. Member and past President of Quest Club. Past Vice President and Board Member of the Civic Theater, a past Committee Chairman of United Way and past Board Member of the Tomask Foundation.

Graduate of Antioch College and holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Michigan.
